Overview
DOCS.AI is an ELAR internal project exploring retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for real business documents — policies, manuals, reports — where generic chatbots hallucinate.
Challenge
Teams sit on hundreds of pages of PDFs nobody reads. Keyword search fails; asking an LLM directly risks invented answers.
Approach
RAG with citations: chunk + embed documents, retrieve the relevant passages, and force the model to answer only from retrieved context with source references.
Solution
Upload → process → chat interface with source citations, document library, and scoped knowledge bases per project or client.
Outcome
A reusable RAG starter ELAR now uses as the foundation for client knowledge-base and support projects — cutting prototype time from weeks to days.
